May 21, 2022, Freeport, NY — Drexel Hamilton was a proud sponsor of Mission Helping Hands’ “Hometown Heroes” event on Armed Forces Day that raised funds for the construction of the first Iraq/Afghanistan War Monument in Nassau County. Located at Veterans Memorial Park in Eisenhower Park, the monument commemorates military members who bravely served our country in Afghanistan and Iraq. Drexel Hamilton’s Joe Mastrogiacomo and Ken Willisch volunteered at the event which, along with food and festivities, recognized members of the community from law enforcement, fire departments as well as the military and veterans community. Paul Vista, Deputy Director at the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency, thanked Drexel Hamilton for its contribution and remarked, “The Hometown Heroes event could not have been a success without the hard work from the Drexel Hamilton Team.” Way to go Joe and Ken! Stay tuned…the monument is scheduled to be unveiled on Veteran’s Day.
