Drexel Hamilton Welcomes Marine Corps Veteran to the Team
We are so pleased to introduce Drexel Hamilton’s newest military Veteran intern, Alissa Maerzke! Alissa joined our Capital Markets team after serving 5 years on active duty as an Intelligence Specialist in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a 7-month deployment to the Arabian Gulf with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Prior to this deployment, Alissa was selected as one of the first females to integrate into a combat infantry unit; 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines. One of the highlights of her military career was facilitating the integration of more women into these previously all-male combat units. In addition to her internship, Alissa is pursuing an undergraduate degree at Columbia University in the City of New York and volunteering with the Military Assistance Foundation. She is also an avid supporter of two additional non-profit organizations each with a mission to combat Veteran suicide; One More Wave provides surf therapy and VETS, Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions, Inc helps Veterans heal from traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. Alissa, we couldn’t be happier to have you on the Drexel Hamilton team!
