NEW YORK — Drexel Hamilton, LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned and Operated broker/dealer, was featured on CNBC’s “Power Lunch” program on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, Veterans’ Day. The feature aired as part of the network’s focus on businesses providing meaningful employment to military veterans returning from service.

“We are thrilled that CNBC chose our firm as one to highlight on Veterans’ Day,” said Lawrence Doll, Founder and Chairman of Drexel Hamilton, LLC. “It’s a tribute to our emphasis on not just providing our returning veterans with a place of employment, but also empowering them with the skills needed to succeed in the financial industry.”

The military veterans benefit from the firm’s philosophy of partnering them with an “industry veteran,” typically someone with 20+ years of experience on Wall Street.

“The platform Drexel Hamilton has established allows us to find the department we best fit into, as opposed to falling into a career,” said Kimberly Alonzo, who began in operations before finding her calling in municipal sales. “We can go from desk to desk during our initial training and learn all aspects of the industry, which definitely makes a difference.”

The firm currently employs 44 veterans, representing every branch of the U.S. military. Of those, 23 are recognized as service disabled by the United State Department of Veteran Affairs.

“Our firm provides a platform for returning veterans from overseas to learn about the financial services industry,” said John Martinko, former U.S. Army captain and current Director of Equity Syndicate. “We can provide them with a network to tap into that otherwise might not be available.”

As part of the full feature on Drexel Hamilton, CNBC’s Dominic Chu highlighted some of the key aspects of Drexel Hamilton’s business philosophy on Squawk Box, the network’s morning show:

Chu also joined “Closing Bell” to further discuss the hiring and training program Drexel Hamilton provides the returning military veterans.

“We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we’re not satisfied,” said President James Cahill, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm. “We want to continue to spread the word about what we’re doing in order to help provide this same type of access to a meaningful career for all of our returning military heroes.”
